Using ICT to enhance teaching and learning
Using ICT to enhance teaching and learning
During remote learning, the children in my class developed ICT skills that I wanted to harness to benefit the teaching and learning within the classroom. The children were able to access tasks using ICT at home and I wanted to transfer this into the classroom.
I developed the use of QR codes in the class to create different learning experiences. I pre-record differentiated tasks, then provide QR codes for the children to access independently. As I teach in a play-based environment, this allows me to provide teaching experiences that the children can access independently.
QR codes are provided to the children that link to pre-approved resources. This means the children can access online games to extend their learning, but teaching time is not effected by the children asking what sites they can use.
I have also used QR codes to show examples of able children explaining tasks, and has a tool to showcase success.
I used QR code generator websites and flipgrid to create the videos I have recorded. I placed the QR codes around the room, and showed the children how to access them using the school iPads.
The children are gaining access to learning independently. They are becoming confident individualds and are gaining digital literacy skills. They strive to complete their work to the best of their ability so they can share their success through an engaging QR code.
