Kitbag in Action!
Kitbag is a Health and Wellbeing resource from the charity Children's First.
It is used to support children's mental wellbeing and to discuss their feelings in a safe environment using oil, feelings cards, stories and much more.
Purchased the resource from children's First Charity after having implemented it at previous school with great success.
Trained all staff in how to use it and work with pupils to develop their emotional literacy.
Engaged it training for all.
Worked with pupils 1-2-1, in small groups and in a whole school setting.
Every child in school gets at least 1 session a week, more if needed.
Pupils really enjoy their kitbag sessions and comment on how it lets them be them. To speak openly about concerns and worries and / or to resolve problems.
Staff have commented on how much the children are engaged and talk about their feelings. They also feel it helps them resolve issues fully as the focus is on feelings rather than blame.
