TITLE OF DEVELOPING PRACTICE EXAMPLE
Developing Interactions
Developing Interactions
Working in partnership with Speech and Language, NHS Forth Valley we have continued to develop an effective, universal communication environment.
Adults took part in CLPL for Intense Interactions and Makaton.
Using the training staff reflected on their interactions with children. They took part in peer observation, modelling and evaluating their practice. Adults worked together to discuss appropriate interactions with children.
In particular, staff extended their thinking to support children with Additional Needs. They identified the developmental stage of the child to ensure interactions were meeting their needs and adults were engaging with children in a way that supported their development.
Next steps
Adults used their knowledge of the children's developmental stage and interests to plan experiences and interactions for children.
Adults continue to develop their knowlegde and skill set to meet the needs of the children in Park Drive.
Why is this effective practice?
Childrens experiences are personalised and planned for using these interactions.
Child led learning is valued and drives the pedagogy.
High level of reflections as a staff team which impact positively on children.
